I enjoy the fishing and dining….and most of all, it’s warmer:). We like to stay in Marathon. I’m not as keen on out of country travel anymore so the Keys are our choice.

been awhile but used to be great night fishing for tarpon under the bridges and caught some monster bonefish in the keys. Still some decent diving and snorkeling

Been to Key West several times. Some interesting museums there, and Hemingway’s house. Lots of very good restaurants. People watching is interesting, lots of freaks and gay people there. About 4-5 days there is enough for me.
Islalmorado has great fishing for both inshore and offshore species, as do all of the islands through out the keys. No where in the keys do you need to dress up to go out to eat or tour. Its is the only vacation I know of that a couple of pairs of shorts, a few shirts (Long sleeve cotton fishing shirts recommended) and some tennis shoes and you are good to go.
The scenery is beautiful, the water is many shades of blue and the view from the many bridges can be spectacular as you drive the length of the highway. Each night is a celebration of the sun set as tourist and locals all gather at a local watering hole (bar) and watch the sun set. Malory Square in Key West is a favorite place to take part in the tradition.
Key West is great place to visit and if you are not offended by blatant homosexuality on display Duval street at night can be very interesting. They will not bother you, they can tell a straight tourist from a mile away and will not bother you, so just enjoy the freak show.
I love the Keys and my wife and I plan to get back there before we get any older.
